Mass Appraisal
Mass appraisers conduct valuations of all properties in a “universe” of properties, such as a city or county. Their work is widely used for property tax purposes. Just like single property appraisals, mass appraisals rely on accurate property characteristics and market data and take into account each property’s valid sales in a given time frame.
The Appraisal Foundation® (Foundation) does not develop a set of qualification criteria or credential mass appraisers, but one of our Partner organizations does. If you would like to learn more about how to become a mass appraiser, please contact the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) to learn more.
